As a sustainable clothing brand, born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, FunGuyz is committed to crafting high-quality, organic garments and accessories while taking environmental responsibility at every step of the way.

Organic Cotton, FunGuyz’s very first fabric to launch. A material renowned for its sustainability and comfort. Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, leading to healthier soil and a lower environmental impact. It is softer and more breathable than conventional cotton, making it ideal for gentle clothing on the skin and the planet.

Along with Bamboo & Mycelium, Hemp is another hot organic fabric for FunGuyz. This is due to its versatile and sustainable fibre that requires minimal water and no pesticides to grow. It’s known for its historical durability, breathability, and natural resistance to mould and UV light.

Hemp is being used increasingly more & more in the eco-friendly fashion industry due to its strength and minimal environmental footprint. Bamboo, another key area of research for FunGuyz, is renowned for its resilient nature of growing independently without the need for harmful fertilisers and pesticides, thanks to its natural antibacterial properties. 

This impressive, eco-friendly fibre is highly renewable, with its cultivation requiring less water due to bamboo fibres being soft and highly absorbent. This makes it an excellent sustainable material.

As the root structure of fungi itself, Mycelium is a resilient organism emerging as a sustainable alternative in fashion and other worldwide projects. It is biodegradable, strong, and flexible, with the potential to replace leather and synthetic fabrics in the future. 

Companies like my-fi are promoting mycelium not only for its benefits in textiles but also for its ability to stem from industrial waste residue. Through composting, we can utilise fungi’s natural ability to break down molecules, which in turn helps us form a sustainable method for farmers harvesting this crop.
